Our Founder, Late Mr. Basant Lal Madhogaria was a pioneer in the Eastern Foundry Industry of India. He was instrumental in helping setup various other foundries. Mr. Basant Lal is still remembered by the foundry fraternity for his benevolent & humble approach to life. Against all obstacles, he managed to setup a foundry with a vision that would justify much after his lifetime. He was known for his social & charitable efforts & his intent to help people. He was an engineering genius who without formal education had gained skillshots & insights into foundry processes like no other.

Overview
Incorporated in the year 1972, Shree Jagannath Iron Foundry Pvt. Ltd. , is one of Eastern India’s oldest Foundry which started operations making Cast Iron Sleepers for Indian Railways. Founded by Late Shri Basantlal Madhogaria, the company gradually expanded into other casting products like Manhole Covers, Gratings, Pipes, Pipe Fittings, Ornamental & Industrial Castings, Steel Fabrication products. Fondly called “SJIF” or “JAGANNATH”, the company today exports to over 25 countries across the world including all parts of India.
Starting with humble beginnings & a modest infrastructure, today SJIF Group has 4 units under its fold, each with unique ability to make various types of castings from 5o grams to 10 MT a single piece & catering to a plethora of industries. SJIF is equipped with all the modern infrastructure required for a global world class foundry. Technology upgradation is a norm at SJIF & we continue to ensure we are at the forefront of technological changes.
Infrastructure
SJIF is now a group of foundries & fabrication factory located in West Bengal, India. We are known as as exporters of Grey Iron, Ductile Iron & Steel Castings & Fabrication products with sales network across India & 25 countries globally.
Covering an area of over 2,80,000 square feet, SJIF has various capacities of Cupola Furnaces, Induction Furnace, High Pressure Moulding Line, Sand Plants, Core Mixers, Shot Blasting, Painting , Chemical, Physical & Sand Testing facilities, VMC machines, Machining Workshop etc. under its fold making it one of the most integrated foundries of Eastern India.

CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility: Making a Difference in the Community
It is often said that doing good in the community can create a virtuous cycle of positive impact. In fact, doing good in the community can have a real and tangible impact on corporate social responsibility (CSR).
At SJIF, we believe that CSR should be taken up very seriously & every opportunity of creating an impact, whether at a individual or a company level or even a joint effort at industry or association level, should be used to give back to the society. SJIF prides itself that its Founder & senior management are actively connected with social causes in their business & community.
1. Employee Training & Skill Development
Employees across all factories within SJIF are regularly encouraged to upgrade & upskill themselves. Training is provided to help them.
2. Ambulance for Foundry Workers
SJIF has contributed along with other industries in an initiative to provide ambulance services to foundry workers in the city in case of a medical emergency.
3. Blood Camps
SJIF regularly conducts blood camps across its units & distributes the blood collected to hospitals in the vicinity.
4. Free Health Insurance & Eye Checkup Camps
Insurance premium on behalf of workers are paid by SJIF & timely free eye checkup camps are conducted
5. Free Drinking Water Supply
Directors at SJIF in their personal capacity have installed cold drinking water systems in poor neighborhood in a bid to control extreme heat related hazards
6. School for Children
As a trustee in the Howrah Welfare Trust, SJIF & it directors have contributed towards building a school on Benaras Road in Howrah where education of most kids are subsidized. It has been done to create a self-sustainable model & eco-system for others to contribute

Incorporated in 2008, MBK is the one of the most advanced foundries in Eastern India with a state-of-the-art infrastructure
The fabrication division within SJIF group, SK Hardware is a custom steel fabrication unit making products for Indian & export market & houses the warehouses for International dispatches for SJIF Group
The latest feather in the cap, ULM is into global procurement, & IT services & is headed by a young team. Still in early days, ULM is also the investment arm of the SJIF Group & does angel investing into startups.
